Sea lions take over boat launch

There is a health crisis among sea lions along California’s coastline and residents in Monterey are dealing with starving animals heading to shore.

The problem has gotten so out of hand in one area, the city of Monterey has now closed its boat launch.

The city says it's part of the natural phenomenon happening along the coast. we've got an influx of young sea lions. Across California, more than 1,800 sick or starving sea lions have been taken in this year. Experts say it's because of an El Nino weather pattern that is warming waters and pushing food sources out to sea.
