Seal leaps aboard fishing boat

Greg Beldham caught more than he bargained for while fishing for salmon Sunday in British Columbia’s Nanoose Bay.

Beldham said five transient killer whales, hunting in a pack, cornered a frightened and confused harbor seal and began smashing it against the side of his boat before they moved in to finish it off.

Beldham said the seal then leaped aboard the platform, saving itself from the jaws of one of the ocean's top predators.
