The Seamanship and Safety stories by Mike Saylor and Dieter Loibner are part of our 81-page digital edition “Seamanship & Safety,” the third in our line of Master’s Series publications. So just what is a digital edition, and how do you receive a copy?

You can think of a digital edition essentially as an exact digital replica of a print version of a magazine or newspaper delivered to your computer via e-mail. This in-depth safety guide is available free to all Soundings subscribers. All you need to do is visit our Web site (www.soundingsonline.com ) and sign in. Non-subscribers also can go to our site and either purchase a copy online or subscribe to the magazine and get a free “copy” of “Seamanship & Safety” immediately e-mailed to their computer. You also can view an eight-page sample free on our Web site.

“Seamanship & Safety” was assembled by a strong, experienced team of writers and editors, including coastal and offshore cruisers, sailors and powerboaters, big- and small-boat operators, a circumnavigator, fishermen, racers, a doctor, mechanic, and full-time liveaboard. In addition, each story was vetted by at least two editors and three outside experts.
