Seattle Boat Show will close early for Super Bowl

Seattle Boat Show organizers decided to end the show a day early again this year so show-goers and exhibitors can watch the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

The show will open at 11 a.m. on Jan. 23 at CenturyLink Field Event Center and South Union Lake and close at 8 p.m. on Jan. 31.

In further celebration of the team, show organizers and BoatUS will give one boater a pair of 2015 Seahawks season tickets.

Those who attend the show will be eligible to enter to win the Seahawks tickets, which includes the option of purchasing playoff tickets after the 2015 season. The winner also will have the option of being entered in a drawing for tickets to Super Bowl 50 in February 2016 in California. One entry is allowed per guest per day. The winner will be announced on. 31.

The show will feature 1,000 boats and yachts indoors and on the water, more than three acres of accessories, electronics and boating gear, 225 free seminars and advanced training classes for a fee.

One of the boats on display will be a 164-foot, $25 million yacht called Evviva, built in Westport, Wash. The boat has six suites, a helicopter landing pad, an elevator, hot tub, gourmet galley, marble and granite heated floors, a spa tub for two in the master suite and a yacht garage housing a 23-foot ski and dive boat.

The show attractions include an inaugural joust tournament, a children’s zone that includes Aqua Paddler boats and complimentary boat rides in the floating portion of the show. Twenty-minute guided tours in all-electric, 21-foot enclosed and heated Duffy boats will point out facts about South Lake Union and the qualities of the yachts in the show.

Admission will be free from Monday to Thursday after 5 p.m. for those who don’t own a boat and would like to find out more about boating.

Women’s Day, on Jan. 26, will include free admission for women and seminars designed for women by female boaters. Starting at 5 p.m., women can enjoy complimentary drinks, live music and giveaways in the Boaters’ Lounge.
