The U.S. Senate last week approved legislation to extend the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Safety Trust Fund for seven months or until the end of the federal fiscal year on Sept. 30, the Marine Retailers Association of America said.
The bill now goes to President Barack Obama and he is expected to sign it.
The Senate cleared H.R. 662 by voice vote after the House of Representatives passed the measure.
"We are pleased the bill passed the House and Senate, ensuring funding at 2010 and 2009 levels for important fish hatcheries, boating safety education and law enforcement, pumpouts, boat access ramp construction and outreach programs," MRAA chairman Dave Foulkrod said.
