The Coast Guard rescued seven boaters Thursday after their vessel sunk a mile southeast of Cape Canaveral, Fla.
Operational watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville received reports from a good Samaritan of the sinking of a 26-foot recreational boat at approximately 9:46 a.m. Thursday.
Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral diverted a 25-foot rescue boat crew and arrived on the scene at approximately 9:56 a.m.
When the crew arrived, the vessel was completely submerged. All seven boaters were in the water and wearing lifejackets at the time of the Coast Guard’s arrival.
The crew pulled the boaters aboard and transferred them to Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral.
