Slip aboard, head injury

The Coast Guard medevaced a 38-year-old woman after she sustained a head injury slipping aboard a boat in Delaware Bay near Fortescue, N.J. The Coast Guard received a call reporting she was unconscious, had a weak pulse, was not breathing, and that CPR was being conducted. A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Fortescue arrived on scene and also conducted CPR on her. A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City (N.J.) arrived on scene and hoisted her aboard the helicopter and transported her to Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Courthouse, N.J., where she was transferred to emergency medical personnel.
