The Austrian firm Designers Migaloo Private Submersible Yachts claims it is the world’s first company to offer private submersible superyachts.
According to managing director Christian Gumpold, the company is founded on the Mark Twain principle: “They did not know it was impossible, so they did it.”
Gumpold and his team have worked both in the yachting and the shipbuilding industry globally before coming up with the idea of building large private submarines.
Migaloo PSY handles the design, engineering and construction of the vessels that could range up to 740 feet in length.
“The Migaloo Private Submersible Yachts are the first alternative to super and mega yachts with the benefit of being able to submerge the whole yacht when the owner and guests want to keep their privacy during travelling or staying at anchor,” Gumpold says.
