Tanker runs into submerged oil rig

When Hurricane Ike roared through the Gulf of Mexico last September, the storm knocked a jack-up oil rig off its moorings, sinking the rig in 230 feet of water 90 miles off the Louisiana coast. An extensive and expensive search turned up nothing. It took a 159,000-ton fully laden oil tanker to unexpectedly find it.
