Teen solo sailor arrives in South Africa

Dutch solo circumnavigating sailor Laura Dekker docked at the South African port of Durban last week to wait out the bad weather.

The exhausted 16-year-old arrived in Durban last week after sailing for 47 days with her last stopover in Darwin, Australia.

Dekker is attempting to circumnavigate the globe in her 38-foot Jeanneau Ginfizz ketch she named Guppy. She began her voyage last year in August when she left her home country of Holland with the plan to become the youngest person to sail the globe single-handed.
