Teen takes youngest-solo-sailor title

Mike Perham, 17 became the youngest person to sail single-handed around the world. The British teen sailed into Lizard Point in Cornwall, United Kingdom, at 9:47 a.m. Thursday, according to a report on CNN.

Perham sailed his Open 50,, 30,000 miles in 282 days to attain the record. His accomplishment comes a little more than a month after the arrival of 17-year-old Californian Zac Sunderland, who returned July 16 to Marina Del Rey, Calif., after his solo circumnavigation. Sunderland is 108 days older than Perham.
