Tow boat operator honored for rescue

Capt. Byron Farlow was first on the scene of a capsizing that plunged three men and one woman into 48-degree water. Farlow, of TowBoatUS Virginia Beach, with his own vessel taking on water, single-handedly pulled all four anglers from the ocean and sped them back to shore and waiting ambulances. Farlow, along with TowBoatUS Manasquan, N.J., were honored at the BoatUS Towing Services Annual Conference recently held in Destin, Fla.
