Nancy Barrett of Durham, N.H., says she is being forced to take down two steel and wood framed tents draped in plastic because the town considers them "accessory structures" that do not conform with the zoning ordinance.
The tents, which are roughly 12 feet by 30 feet by 12 feet in size, have been used by Barrett during the last couple of decades to store her two red and green wooden boats during the off season. She stressed if she did not have the tents, she wouldn't be able to properly maintain the vessels.
"Without these tents, it would be the end of wooden boats," said Barrett.
"Live, free or die, New Hampshire, I don't think so," said Barrett, noting she feels as if her personal property rights are being challenged. "I just feel so helpless."
