Tracing a yacht's trek through time

In 1927, work began on Mount Rushmore, the first trans-Atlantic call was made, the daily wage was $1 and the first 50-foot yacht was built and launched from the Vinyard Shipyard in Milford, Del.

On June 12, little more than 83 years later, that yacht, the Augusta, was launched again from that same shipyard. The journey of that boat and the rise and fall of the ship building industry in Milford is the subject of a documentary that will be aired Aug. 28 in Milford. It is also about the passion of Joan and Sudler Lofland, who own the shipyard and the first and last yachts built there.
