Tsunami was final blow for some commercial fishermen

The Sioux is jammed between mangled docks and large rafts of debris, taking on water and in danger of sinking to the bottom of Crescent City Harbor.

The boat's batteries are dead, the motor silent. Seawater is seeping through cracked seals in the hull, damaged when tsunami waves ping-ponged The Sioux in the harbor nine days ago, and there's no electricity to fire up pumps to right it.

So skipper John Solaman is dismantling the rigging and electronics, salvaging what he can before the ship joins 16 other boats on the littered harbor floor.
