One nautical way to celebrate Independence Day this year is the chance to watch the world’s oldest commissioned warship take its annual turnaround voyage.
Since the 1950s, the USS Constitution has celebrated those who lost their lives in the war for independence by setting sail through the Boston Harbor to Castle Island in South Boston. Once at Castle Island, the ship will fire a 21-gun salute before returning back to Charlestown.
Spectators can watch the historic event while relaxing onboard one of Boston Harbor Cruises vessels. Onboard either the Majesty or the Fredrick L. Nolan Jr., enjoy not only the amazing views but also selections from Boston Harbor Cruise’s lunch menu, all while listening to narration provided by an expert historian from the USS Constitution Museum.
The USS Constitution turnaround Cruises will depart from One Long Wharf, in Boston at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $75 per person or $65 for USS Constitution Museum Members.
