Vessel catches fire after boat parade

A woman had to be rescued when her large pleasure boat caught fire and partially sank off Harbor Island Monday, a day after the vessel participated in the San Diego Bay Parade of Lights.

Two workers were on board the 57-foot, 1963 Chris-Craft Constellation, named Sea Siesta, when they noticed the fire just after 12:30 p.m.

They rescued the boat’s owner, who was below deck, unaware of the blaze and had to be pulled out through a porthole, San Diego fire spokesman Maurice Luque told
