VIDEO: A triumphant return

During the Golden Age of Sail, harbors were packed with ships that carried cargo around the world.

Ships such as Wavertree were a familiar sight, and now that she has returned to New York, restored to her former glory, the ship brings back that feeling of grand voyages and commerce.

This video has more details about the restoration:

The South Street Seaport Museum is dedicated to keeping New York’s maritime heritage alive; Wavertree is just one piece of its historic collection of buildings, ships and exhibits.
