Part of the allure of heading offshore is not knowing what awaits you.
A Californian who was riding his Sea-Doo personal watercraft off San Diego on Nov. 30 suddenly found himself amid a megapod of dolphins.
“They wanted to play, but I only had enough gas to get back to Shelter Island,” Lou Paz explained in posting the video of the porpoise escort he recorded with his smartphone.
Dozens of dolphins can be seen jumping out of the water and swimming right in front of his PWC.
"I just had to get it and show it. Otherwise, who would have believed me?" Paz told the local 10 News channel.
The video is nearly 6 minutes long, but worth the time.
