VIDEO: Caught on camera

It takes a brazen thief to steal a boat and trailer hooked to a tow vehicle in a fenced-in area with surveillance cameras.

A recent NBC2 News segment details a nighttime break-in Jan. 6 at the Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats manufacturing facility in North Fort Myers, Fla., in which three thieves drove away with a customer’s $400,000 boat.

Terry Sobo, Nor-Tech’s director of marketing, believes the thieves plan to use the boat for human smuggling.

"They'll get the boat down to Cuba, then do some human smuggling into Mexico with them, and the boats are typically abandoned once they get there," Sobo says in the report.
