The trailer for the Hollywood film of Nathaniel Philbrick’s book “In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex” is out and it looks awesome.
The true saga inspired aspects of the novel “Moby-Dick” — or the title as it originally was published, “The Whale” — 30 years after the Essex was sunk in 1820 by a furious sperm whale in the southern Pacific Ocean.
An actor portraying “Moby-Dick” author Herman Melville is featured in the movie, interviewing one of the survivors.
Chris Hemsworth stars in Oscar-winning director Ron Howard's “In The Heart Of The Sea,” which is set to debut March 13 in theaters.
Philbrick’s book won the 2000 National Book Award for Nonfiction.
