Capt. Mark Garry is a charter fishing guide based in Smithtown Bay on New York’s Long Island.
He and his crew take clients out on Long Island Sound and off Montauk aboard his 2320 Parker Pilothouse, where he films the action on the water and posts it on his website at IncentiveFishing.com.
Recently his fishing team, Kidcochiese Outdoors, went remote to fish off Los Suenos, Costa Rica, and caught something special.
“As we were trolling up sailfish and dorado, all hell broke loose on our starboard side,” he writes in his posting. “A 500- to 600-pound blue marlin was chasing a huge dorado, at least 25 pounds. The marlin made several attempts at the dorado, and the last we saw of both of them was they passed five feet away from us [and] the dorado was on the tail of the marlin. I guess that's the furthest place from his bill!”
