The Spring Boat Show opens Friday at the Brewer Dauntless Marina in Essex, Conn., for a third year.
The marina is located at 9 Novelty Lane on the lower Connecticut River. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27-29, and admission and parking are free.
The “boutique” format allows for a casual day on the docks to board about 50 new and brokerage boats — sail and power — from 25 to 72 feet. On display will be models from Beneteau, Cabo, Cutwater, Grand Banks, Hallberg-Rassy, Hatteras, Hunt, Jupiter, Nonsuch, Nordic Tugs, Ranger Tugs, Sabre and others.

“With this being our third show, I’m quite optimistic about this year because this show is clearly growing,” says David Dorrance, a broker with the Essex office of Prestige Yacht Sales, one of the exhibitors.
The show’s size means visitors can get personal attention from brokers and dealers in a low-pressure, relaxed setting.
“Anyone who’s come to one knows it’s an intimate show, with a great selection and variety of high-quality sail- and powerboats,” Dorrance says. “The venue, right on the river, is very special and offers a great atmosphere.”
