A TV production crew for the nature show MaxAnimal got a better-than-expected close-up when a great white shark took a bite of the RIB they were in.

The crew was filming off South Africa — home to some of the world’s biggest great whites — when the predator attacked.

A shark swims up to the RIB, surfaces and immediately bites the port tube. As tough as the tubes are, they’re no match for razor-sharp shark’s teeth, and the crew limps back to shore.

“Is the scariest part when the shark eyes our folks on the boat?” reads the crew posting on the show’s Facebook page. “Ah, yeah.”

In the comments section of the video, the company assured viewers that the attack was “completely unprovoked” and that everyone, including the shark, “made it out alive.”
