The Torqeedo Travel 1003 solar electric motor is designed for use on daysailers and tenders. Its 520-watt lithium manganese battery charges like a laptop using an adaptor or with the 45-watt, 24-volt solar panel created by Power Film.

A full charge from 0 to 100 percent takes 12 hours. The motor will run for 38 minutes at full throttle and up to 10 hours maximum. Audible alarms alert when the battery's charge is getting low.
The T1003 was selling for $3,995 at the Miami International Boat Show earlier this year.
