Volvo Penta unveils new technology at media event

Soundings executive editor Chris Landry was recently part of a group of journalists from around the world who attended Volvo Penta's Global Press Event in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Here, the nearly 50 journalists from 14 countries journalists and Volvo Penta representatives from the United States toured the Volvo manufacturing plant in Skovde for the introduction of new engines and piloting systems.

"This event marks the next phase of integration of new technologies to make boating easier," vice president of product management Johan Wasterang said.
Eight Volvo Penta executives gave presentations and then turned over a half dozen powerboats from 25 to 55 feet — outfitted with new engines and/or technology — to the journalists for testing.
