West Marine will open a new 13,000-square-foot store in Mystic, Conn., on Friday across the street from Mystic Aquarium.
The new store will be about 50 percent larger than the retailer’s former Mystic location.
“I can’t wait for our customers to see our new store and the broader selection of products we are carrying,” store manager Travis Chamberland said in a statement. “It’s a beautiful building that encompasses the nautical lifestyle of the community with thousands of items, including boats, boat parts, apparel and waterlife accessories.”
The engine counter will provide access to 1,000 replacement parts that range from fuel filters to steering cables.
In addition to core boating departments such as maintenance, sailboat hardware and anchoring, the store will have marine electronics available to touch and test, including products from Garmin.
Men’s and women’s apparel selections will include brands such as Helly Hansen, Columbia and Guy Harvey.
