The tours depart from Oldport Marine’s dock in downtown Newport, R.I., next door to the Mooring Restaurant on America’s Cup Avenue. Board the motor vessel Patriot for a tour of Newport Harbor and Lower Narragansett Bay.

See the Harbor Seals in their natural habitat on Citing Rock then make a stop at Rose Island to tour the Rose Island Lighthouse Museum. Located on an 18-acre island a mile offshore and a century in the past, Rose Island Lighthouse is a working lighthouse built in 1869.

Enjoy a guided tour of the lighthouse museum where each room is fully restored just as if keepers of old still lived there.

Running off wind-powered electricity and a rainwater collection system the lighthouse offers an unforgettable view into another century.

Admission for adults is $18; children 10 and under, $14 visit www.roseisland.org or call (401) 847-9109, Ext. 2.
