Winter sales promotions seek to draw customers

Publish date:

With the recreational boating market slumping worse than the general economy, marine manufacturers are promoting sales and incentives to lure customers during the slow winter months. Among the offers:

  • Grady-White Boats is offering factory incentives through March 6 on any new Grady-White, whether in dealer inventory or built new for winter or spring delivery. The incentives can combine with Yamaha Outboards' "Four-Stroke Revolution" offer of extended warranties or cash credits on engines. For the 2011 model year, Grady-White offers 26 models. The factory-sponsored incentives will not be repeated during the 2011 model year, the company said.
  • BRP launched a new retail incentive promotion for its Evinrude outboard engines.

The new program, "Season's BEST Boat Show Sales Event," offers participating Evinrude dealers an aggressive sales-closing tool designed to deliver added incentives for boat show shoppers. Qualified Evinrude E-TEC purchases between now and April 15 receive a free five-year factory-backed limited warranty (three-year BRP factory warranty, plus an additional two years B.E.S.T. coverage). Consumers who repower their current boat with a qualifying Evinrude E-TEC engine between now and April 15 will receive a discount of as much as $800 off rigging equipment.
