Woman lands 335-pound halibut on first fishing trip

As a truck driver working for Osborne Construction in Fairbanks, Alaska, Annette Gutierrez doesn’t get much time off. She works 12-hour days, seven days a week.

But when Gutierrez and her fiance, Steve Perkins, who works the same schedule as a heavy equipment operator for Osborne, got a few days off earlier this month, they decided to take a trip to Valdez to go halibut fishing with Perkins’ hunting buddy, Mike Chambers, who has his own boat.
