Atlantic Boat Company of Booklin, Maine, announced it landed a new contract — the Plymouth (Mass.) Yacht Club has approved the purchase of a Duffy 26 Launch as their new club launch.

Hull No. 78 of the design is slated for sea trials and delivery in early spring.

The club selected the Standard Package launch with the optional 75-hp Yanmar diesel power plant, Model 4JH4-TE, according to Atlantic Boat Co.

Since the Coast Guard adjusted its average weight expectation from 140 pounds per person to 185 pounds, many yacht clubs and marinas are facing a dramatic reduction in passenger capacity for their fleet. With the new ruling in mind, Atlantic Boat Company introduced the Duffy-26 Launch, knowing that the Duffy 26 hull’s inherent stability can meet this requirement.

Situated on Cape Cod Bay, Plymouth Yacht Club is one of the oldest yacht clubs in
America, founded in 1890.
