Susan Daly has joined the staff of the International Yacht Restoration School of Newport, R.I., as director of development and marketing for the restoration of the 133-foot 1885 schooner yacht Coronet.
The yacht has remained in continuous commission since her launching in the late 19th century, and is a rare survivor of the Gilded Age. Coronet was hauled onto IYRS’ waterfront campus in April 2004 in preparation for Phase II of the restoration, which involves the hull and deck.
Daly — an avid one-design racer — comes from a series of marine-industry companies, including Vanguard Sailboats of Rhode Island, Quokka Sports and America3, the first women’s America’s Cup team.
She holds an undergraduate degree from Yale University and a master’s in business administration from Boston University. www.iyrs.org
